Menstrual Cup Program

HER Africa's successful pilot with 50 girls has established a strong partnership with Saalt, a leading American brand bringing top-quality menstrual cups to the Epe community. This collaboration addresses period poverty in Nigeria by providing innovative menstrual solutions and emphasizing comprehensive menstrual health education.

Period poverty in Nigeria limits women's opportunities and participation in society due to a lack of sanitary products and stigmas. Transitioning to durable menstrual cups offers a sustainable solution and opens doors of opportunity by empowering women to confidently navigate their monthly cycles. This program ensures that girls and women can remain active, engaged, and unhindered in their pursuit of education and other life aspirations.

Clean Water Access and Dignified Public Toilets

HER Africa's initiative in Epe has positively impacted over 1,500 individuals through the Clean Water Access and Public Toilets program. Achievements include providing clean water access, eliminating open defecation, and ensuring a reliable water source for cooking and daily needs.

The initiative has notably improved education by eliminating long walks for water, resulting in uninterrupted schooling for children. Overall, it enhances the community's quality of life, promotes hygiene, reduces waterborne diseases, and empowers residents to focus on well-being, education, and development.

Your support is crucial in creating lasting change. Beyond infrastructure, HER Africa aims to transform lives and foster sustainable development in Epe. Join us in building a future where access to clean water and proper sanitation is a fundamental right for every individual.

At HER Africa, we believe that education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. That’s why one of our core impact areas focuses on supporting public schools across Nigeria, where limited resources often hold back both students and teachers from reaching their full potential.

Through our School Project initiative, we’ve brought real change to underserved schools by:

  • 📦 Donating essential school materials – including notebooks, pens, backpacks, and learning aids that help students stay engaged and motivated.

  • 🪑 Providing desks and chairs – to create more dignified and functional learning environments in overcrowded classrooms.

  • 🏫 Installing secure school gates – ensuring a safer environment where children can focus on learning without external threats.

  • 💗 Delivering menstrual health and hygiene education – empowering young girls with knowledge and supplies to manage their periods confidently and stay in school.

  • 🧼 Promoting sanitation and personal hygiene – through awareness campaigns and the distribution of hygiene kits.

  • 🔍 Leading honest conversations on sex education – helping teenagers make informed choices about their bodies and futures.

These efforts are not just about physical resources—they’re about restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity in the lives of thousands of Nigerian children. With every school we reach, we’re building a future where education is a right, not a privilege.
