HER Africa Food Program
An ongoing project helping families access essential food and nutrition. Supporting families with essential meals.
The Challenge
Many families in Epe, Nigeria live with limited and unstable income. When money is scarce, basic food items such as rice, flour, and cooking oil can become difficult to afford.
Women often carry the responsibility of feeding their families, and without reliable access to food, households face ongoing stress and uncertainty.
Our Response
HER Africa provides practical food support to disadvantaged families in the community.
In previous years, volunteers prepared and distributed cooked meals. More recently, we began providing food parcels containing essential ingredients, allowing families to cook meals at home.
Each parcel includes staples such as rice, flour, oil, salt and seasonings — simple ingredients that help families prepare multiple meals.
A single parcel can create a meaningful difference for a family.
Why it Matters
Access to food supports health, dignity, and stability for families.
When women and caregivers can reliably feed their families, children are better able to attend school, concentrate on learning, and grow in a supportive environment.
